Portrait of James Apperley

“The power chair that was part funded by my Snowdon grant has helped me so much during my first year at Brasenose College, helping manoeuvre the cobbles and courtyards as I go to lectures or to meet friends.”

James Apperley

We accept applications for a range of disability-related costs if they are unlikely to be fully met by statutory sources.

By statutory sources we mean such things as the Learner Support Fund at further education colleges (or its equivalent in Wales and Scotland) or Disabled Students' Allowances (DSA) for university students. The disability support team at your chosen place of study should have details of other statutory sources.

Applications cover such things as

  • Human help – sign language interpreters and people to take notes
  • Computer equipment
  • Adapted or additional accommodation
  • Travel costs
  • Mobility equipment
  • Other costs which relate solely to disability
